Naval Association of Physician Assistants
No mission we won't take

President’s Message

Welcome to The Naval Association of Physician Assistants web page. I am honored and motivated to serve as this year’s NAPA president. I would like to challenge each of you personally to “be proactive” and contribute your time in making this a memorable and significant year by joining NAPA and playing a role in your future.  In addition, I look forward to seeing you attend   the annual meeting during the AAPA’s 41st conference which will be held in Washington, D.C.in May 2013.

As you view this website, please take note that it was created for our paid active members in order to link those of us with the best and most current information. If you have anything of value to add to this site or to the information provided, make it happen for your shipmates.

What we will focus on this year is to provide you instant access to  newsletters, specialty leader updates, and opportunity to meet with our Medical Service Corps Chief, Detailer, and Specialty Leader during the NAPA annual meeting.

Together, we will focus on these goals for the upcoming year:

 (1) Build and expand our current membership to maximize networking; and support opportunities.

 (2)  Continue the mission of Navy Medicine and demonstrate the value that NAPA provides with professional development, direction, and resources to the Medical Community globally and to the PA community locally.

(3) Examine who and what we are as a unit and where we want the PA community to go in the future – focusing on your individual and command needs.

(4) Identify consensus issues among us and build camaraderie now and for future Navy PAs.

We are the future of Navy Medicine.  Help me stand up for what we have done,  what we will  do, and what we are doing by joining me at the  next NAPA meeting at the AAPA conference in Washington DC on May 24, 2013.  This year’s meeting will focus on recognizing those individuals that have made noteworthy contributions to NAPA and to our profession.  Additionally, individuals that received an award last year but were unable to attend the meeting in Toronto will also be honored.

I challenge you to be part of the solution for the future in Navy Medicine. Your service above self has shown our nation significant changes in how medical care in the Navy can be offered.  You have made that difference and now have the chance to contribute to the growth of our community and inspire future Navy PAs by being involved in the future of NAPA. I look forward to meeting you, hearing from you, and seeing you in Washington DC in 2013. Your membership and role in NAPA will set the stage for our future.

John P. Conza, Jr.

NAPA President (2012-2013)
